Installed an OEM Mitsubishi shift knob and like it so far. It's heavier (10 oz. vs. 6 oz.) and a bit shorter than stock.

Did this the other night, but finished up today... I had my alternator go in my 99 at 140k miles and ordered a denso replacement from amazon. Part of the reason was there being no core charge, so I was able to keep my original alternator. I followed the directions elsewhere in the forum and rebuilt the alternator by just replacing the brushes. Got it put back together and took it to autozone today at lunch and it tested great! Woot! So when this refurbed one goes in a few years (I hope), I will be able to just pop the fixed original one back in and be back on the road in a few hours!

worked well for me. I didn't do the bearings, as they weren't in stock, but since this is to put on the shelf for when the refurbed one dies, I can do them later if i feel paranoid about it.

I'm rolex-ing the bushing RR a couple of weeks. There's another two-day autocross event in El Paso and I wouldn't want to go down there needing an alignment!

I washed my car and cleaned the interior a bit, as well as cleaned a lot of the weatherstripping day before yesterday. It's insane how much dirt can accumulate so quickly in this horrid little desert. At least it's dirt and not desiccated bovine leavings like I dealt with in Clovis! On a more positive note, it rained quite a bit in the wee morning hours yesterday. I'm batting 1000 for rain-after-washing this summer! You'd think that's a bad thing, but it's only an annoyance. I'd much rather have rain and water spots than bone dry and dusty!

Plus, all the rain has done wonders for my back yard. It's taken a year since I've moved in to get it to come back.

I did a dry fit of my new 03 SE front end parts. Once I got the old front bumper cover off the damage was worse than I hoped but less than I feared so guess that's good. I'll do some pulling tomorrow to straighten this up a bit. Then I'll start putting things back on permanently. One thing I did fins was that my drivers side headlight socket was well toasted. It crumbled a bit as I removed it from the headlight.

I temporarily hung the new parts just to see where I was. It's not right but it already looks way better than before with out any straightening or even adjusting. It also looks HOT! after looking at the 2000 front end.

With $20 worth of assorted HD hardware, some time with a sawazall and a drill to make some assorted pulling tools, a big chain and a tree I pulled that crushed front member back much closer to where it's supposed to be. It's not perfect and to me, it doesn't have to be. No one will ever see it. I was surprised when I noticed just how close that member came to crushing some of the AC stuff. While I had easy access to everything I installed the Stebel horn that used to live in the NA I sold. Unfortunately, I've come to a stopping point for two reason. First is the hood latch is hosed. The second is that it started raining.

Here's the front member after pulling it out. Yes, it's ugly but compared to where it started from it's turned out really nice.

Replaced my thermostat and rad cap, both OEM, 50150 miles. Thermostat I took out did not open at all in boiling water. I can't believe I was only seeing the temp gauge move with sustained 80 mph speeds. Beautiful sunny day, need to go see about a new cell phone after I take a shower.

If you have an MSM, do yourself a favor and just take the BOV off for this job.

Oil change.... and an 02 exhaust manifold change, getting rid of the 99-00 stock manifold!

PB Blaster, creative leverage, a warm (not hot!) exhaust system and wobble extensions were the "constructive" keys to success, although a few well-placed "phrases" seemed to help me, if not the Miata...

Thanks to all who have contributed to the different threads on this topic over the years -- which gave me the confidence to try, and also the assurance that the three nuts on the triangular phlange would indeed come off, with enough patience and effort!

boomer, could you box up some of your rain and send it this way?

As for what I did, I autocrossed it. 5th among rookies. Not bad, but I'm learning that I need more tire, experience, and talent. The last is the hardest to come by; I've never been particularly talented at anything. Good, maybe, but not great. Such is the life of an everyman.

After changing the transmission fluid today and the differential fluid yesterday, I spray painted the visible part of the muffler flat black using high heat spray paint that is made for grills (withstands heat up to 1200 degrees). For some reason, the aluminum muffler had under coating or something on it, and parts of it were poorly done. I did this a few years ago on our SUV and it worked well.

Why'd you paint it black?

mx54us

1st September 2013, 22:46

Well, for some reason, it was mostly black already with some undercoating or something sprayed on it at the factory or the prior owner, with very little aluminum or bar metal showing. Plus, the black goes with the rest of the undercarriage in back.

After a false start installing new Racing Beat springs when the rear bump stops crumbled out of the boots, I ordered new bump stops from Fat Cat Motorsports (cheaper and better than stock), new upper and lower spring isolator rubber, and a fresh set of Bilsteins. My intent was to install some old Koni's while I sent the Bilsteins out to get rebuilt but TireRack had new Bilsteins for $100 per corner, the same price as a rebuild. I'll save the Bilsteins for a rebuild later.

I must be getting old. I used to be able to do this job in 30 minutes per corner. Today it took way too long although the 105 temp might have had something to do with it. Too late, and too tired, to drive it tonight. Tomorrow I'll give it a bath and a test drive.

Hi guys, this is my first post here, so - cheers from a medieval town in the middle of Europe :) I'm not native speaker, so please forgive possible mistakes.

Just bought my NBFL 1.8 month ago, it's pretty stock, in good shape and gives me great deal of pleasure - I testdrive modern cars as my job, so it's very refreshing to have something "analog" in the garage.

Not to be OT: yesterday I had stock steering wheel removed and replaced by smaller used steering wheel. This is temporary setup, there is custom spacer being fabricated. I need the wheel good 4 or 5 inches closer to me, as I'm 197 cm (that's almost 6'6") and my knees collide with it. Also looking at bucket seat to replace the stock one. I'm not really hitting my head, but I could use a little better visibility.

I did, and I was considering this option. But I'd like to keep the original seat in original condition, if at all possible. Plus, the sport or bucket seat would be new and relatively comfortable, whereas foamectomied seat I could get wrong...

If you are careful, and remove the foam from the bottom side of the cushion, the foamectomy should be fairly easily reversed.

Replaced the flasher unit on my '99. The replacement that I got from AutoZone works fine but is missing the little slot on the top of the relay that slides onto the bracket under the dash. So I tucked it up in the wires instead. Anyone else use this "EP33" flasher replacement and where did you place it?

Sold it last week and picked up an AWD replacement (2011 Audi TTS.)

Miss my NB2 and will be getting another as soon as I have a garage.

Also changed the belts to get rid of the annoying screeching sound after cold starts. I know the problem could be elsewhere, but fot now the belts will do and if the problem resurfaces, I'll look into it.

Over the weekend I came across a Sav-On gas station in Verona Beach, NY that sold non-ethanol gas, so I gave it a try for my return trip back to Virginia. I had last filled up 310 miles earlier at a Sheetz in Dillsburg, PA, and this time I put in 9.4 gallons, for an average of 33.0mpg - excellent, but it's a straight highway shot with no traffic and I had the top up much of the time.

Filling up again at the 300-mile mark at the Sheetz in Dillsburg after running the non-ethanol - I put in 8.4 gallons. That's 35.7mpg.

Given that the non-corn-fed gas cost an extra 17c ($3.999 vs. $3.829 at the same station), the improved fuel economy would make the straight stuff worth it if I had one near me. I only wish I had my OBD2 reader plugged in for a second set of data, and to see what happened to my LTFT (with 10% ethanol, my LTFT is always highly positive/rich, as you'd expect for an oxygenated fuel).

Today I just about finished fitting a pair of salvaged front fog lights. They were taken from a Japanese imported Eunos that had been in a crash and was being broken up for spares. These lights are like hens teeth, (very rare) in the UK. When I found them on ebay witha buy it now price of just £50 I had to have them. The set came with both front light assemblies, the front bumper with shrouds and the front part of the original wiring loom. There was no dashboard switch or rear wiring. The brackets were rusty and the right side, (crash side) was slightly bent. All brackets were rubbed down, straightened where necessary and hammerite pained. I have lots more pictures but am limited to 6 on the forum.

My car is red and my theme for the car is very much red & chrome, a throw back to the 60's I guess.

Anyway, these are some photos of my fitting

The old bumper was cut into thirds and the left and right sides were further cut and trimmed to allow them to be used as templates for the shroud holes

The brackets were rusty when bought. I cleaned and hammerite painted them. After cleaning and painting, the brackets were mounted to the car.

After cutting and easing, the shrouds, (which I rattle can painted red from the original black) were test fitted. The knobbly knees belong to my mate who helped me.

I originally mounted the shrouds using silicon sealer. It was useless:mad:. The original fit used a double sided foam bond, probably 3M stuff. I bought some double sided tape from a body shop supplier.

I like red and chrome! I ringed the inner part of the shrouds with chrome strip.

I also deceided to add an outer chrome edge to the shroud. Did I say I like red and chrome...

I was given a front fog switch by a friend, (well swapped it for another switch)/ He helped me with the electrical wiring. I can do most things on my car but I dont like touching the electrics.

I also bought a generic light loom from ebay that included a 20 amp line fuse. Power was taken direct from the fuse box and run in conduit around the back of the angine bay and through the bulkhead into the co*ckpit behind the glove box, ( mine is right hand drive remember).

http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k303/zimmerframe_1955/Mazda/Rockerswitch_zps4a170893.jpg (http://s91.photobucket.com/user/zimmerframe_1955/media/Mazda/Rockerswitch_zps4a170893.jpg.html)

There is still a little bit to finish on the wiring side. Tidying up though, thats all.

All in all, I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

Changing brakes isn't as easy as I had hoped. I'm sure I had a lot to do with that (something about messing up 3 lug nuts, adjusting it with the parking brake on, not realizing it until after I remounted the wheels, then having to adjust again).

Here are the rears after 4 hours. I'm taking a break before I do the fronts!

Got home from my trip, within two hours I was out replacing the clutch master and slave. Unfortunately that didn't fix my problem. It's acting like the clutch isn't disengaging the tranny fully which makes it hard to shift. I tried adjusting the push rod twice without much change. Only other thing I can think it might be is the throwout lever is broken in some fashion. I'm going to try adjusting the push rod again in the morning, if that doesn't work then I may be pulling the transmission.

As a last try I adjusted the pedal this morning to increase the overall travel. While this puts it a little higher than I would like (it's topped out on the switch bracket) it appears to have fixed the problem. Not worried about the handling bit as much as I would be happy with 20 extra horse power. Heck drove my buddies 94 miata and loved that car so much more than mine.

Side not being upside down on the loan is because of me driving around 20+k miles a year plus the paint going bad on the car.

The "right" part? The OEM design is garbage. The hinge is plastic and breaks easily. What the OP has done may not look great, but it is functional and should last longer. I do recommend a piano hinge and trimming the console to fit, though.

I think the important word that everyone is missing here is AND. Power AND handling. The handling in a Miata is awesome, the power is NOT. The power in the Firebird is awesome, the handling is NOT. You could put a coil-over suspension on your Firebird and it still wouldn't out handle a stock Miata. And you could put a supercharger/turbo on your Miata and not catch the Firebird.(well maybe you could) Pick your poi$on.

I'll add that I think your frustration isn't in the Miata vs Firebird, but rather that the Miata is stock.

Is there any threads on this swap

Lots of them. Basically you need to install the front bumper cover and headlights from a 01+ (or suffer a bad looking gap), snip off the single bulb sockets from the 99-00 wiring harness, and create a small "Y" wiring harness for the dual bulbs using Dorman high power low (http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/CTI0/84793/03589.oap?year=2004&make=Mazda&model=Miata&vi=1426272&ck=Search_03589_1426272_917&pt=03589&ppt=C0243) and high (http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/CTI0/84792/03589.oap?year=2004&make=Mazda&model=Miata&vi=1426272&ck=Search_03589_1426272_917&pt=03589&ppt=C0243) beam sockets.

My main motivation for this originally was that someone had backed into my car while it was parked so I needed to replace the hood, front bumper and both headlights. They apparently couldn't see my car over their big tall rear end Chrysler 300 and kept backing up not understanding why they weren't moving.

Still having some problems with the clutch. Spoke to a tech at FM yesterday and he gave me one other thing to try. If that doesn't do it then I'll have to get another clutch.

Got a fresh alignment this morning. Last time I used the FM specs, this time I went with 949's Dual Duty specs. Main difference between the two is more front camber. In just the short drive home I noticed quicker turn-in with lighter feeling steering. Not sure if my power-on oversteer has been affected much or not, that will be checked on my next drive.

I had noticed that the brake pedal in my 99 wasn't as stiff as I remembered (going on long memory, this car does not get driven much). The last time I attempted to drive it the pedal was VERY soft. I let the car sit for a couple weeks while on vacation and came back to investigate. Nothing was leaking, and the master cylinder was full. The fluid in the master cylinder looked murky at best, perhaps even muddy.

I enlisted the help of the wife for an hour or so yesterday and flushed the system with fresh fluid, keeping my fingers crossed that this would do the trick and I wouldn't have to replace any hard parts. And I lucked out: the fresh fluid and complete system bleed has resulted in a rock solid brake pedal and excellent stopping ability. I'm very happy.

In just the short drive home I noticed quicker turn-in with lighter feeling steering. Not sure if my power-on oversteer has been affected much or not, that will be checked on my next drive.

What are these specs?

Joined a Miata Forum. Also detailed the interior for over 2 hours, Q-tips involved. Removed the visors so I can see a bit better, plus I hate moving them to latch the top. I have about a 6 inch tint strip across the top to deal with the sun. Also ordered some extended forged steel wheel studs, so I can get more than 4 rotations out of the lugs with the spacers I just bought. (No the spacers are not on right now.) My 225s are rubbing a tad when the wheel is fully turned. Was gonna wash/wax it but I was recently rear ended and have a jacked up bumper, tail light, and rear drivers side quarter panel. Shes staying filthy till all repairs and new paint and done.

Maybe these picture will work?

Three questions and a comment.

1. How well does it work?

2. Is it just a swap out with the old one, and was yours an electric one?

3. Did you use the power lead for the motorized one to power the amplifier in the base of the S2K unit?

Finished my RoadsterSport exhaust install. Had an issue with a poor weld, but Brian at Goodwin took care of me and sent the replacement adjuster pipe asap. If you are installing one of these in the future, be sure to inspect all the welds and if anything looks suspicious, test it, or just get it replaced. I really should have caught this issue before I installed it. It's obvious that the seam bead is poorly done. But all done now and it sounds great!

There weren't any marks to use as a cutting guide on the tan panels so I made a template which I will post on the site. Perfect fit. Spent about three hours quality time with the Miata this morning. Pulled the 'charger so I could access the O2 sensor plug (I have now moved that so it is accessible at all times), removed the O2 sensor for the wideband and calibrated same. Shimmed the 'charger nose out with an additional two washers to see if that will finally let the belt track straight. Finally, identified my slight coolant leak as coming from the thermostat cover on the reroute spacer, so pulled that off, cleaned it up, made a new gasket and used some silicone on both sides this time. Going to let that dry overnight before refilling the system. Everything else is buttoned back up and ready to go. I'll look at the clutch later today as it's pretty muggy at present.

Oh, and while the new alignment is ace, it doesn't stop power-on oversteer. Things are pretty controllable however.

Willwood and FM coils...nice setup. Did you install yourself? how long for the coils?

Happy Motoring ~

Coils take about an hr per coil if you take ur time and most of the stuff goes right (aka no too badly stuck bolts and then all the bolts thread back on easily). You cannot do coil per coil though u gotta do fronts together and rears together because of the swaybars. Overall about 3 and a half hours or so if u've done them. First time will probably take more since theres few funky moves you gotta do to get the fronts out. On the other hand if you get them perfect the first time and everything slips out just right you can probably do them in 2 and a half 3 hours. For the rears ensure you got enough distance to clear the half shafts before you put them on.l

Measured travel at the clutch slave cylinder, it's 16mm which matched what FM measured on one of theirs. Also checked that I could push the slave pushrod back into the cylinder (this is necessary to ensure you don't have the pedal pushrod too tight), I could. So it's looking like I'll be getting another clutch.

Long time ago I was messing around with the radiator fans.. i ended up dropping a wrench and heard it hit the plastic pan on the bottom. I'm like oh well i'll get it later. It was late and when i got done I cleaned up and forgot about it. Next day i went to work and remember hearing a clunk of something hitting the asphalt and then hit the back of the car. About a month later i go to jiffy lube to get the oil changed in the diff. The guy comes out with a 10mm wrench saying this was stuck in the back over the muffler heat shield. Yup that was my wrench.

I replaced my old fuel pump (still running but with 107K miles) with a new Walbro pump and OEM fuel pump relay from Rosenthal. Since I had to pull the relay out to run the engine empty of gas to de-pressurize the tank, I put in a new one. I kept the old relay as a spare. Pulling the old relay out was MUCH harder than replacing the fuel pump. I had to remove the bracket which holds the fuel pump relay and a bunch of others just to get access to the relay. Hint: remove the driver's seat for both jobs.

Three hours and fifteen minutes to pull the head off the Miata (think I've worked on this car too much). Looks fine with no apparent warpage. The only thing I can think of is the slightly uneven tightening I did due to that little bit of wiring that got trapped at the rear. If that was it, then it means the MLS gaskets can absolutely not be compressed more than once. I'm going to try cleaning the head up with some aluminum polish I saw at Ace, ordering the gasket in the morning.

Helpful tip, an easy way to remove hard-to-reach washers is to use a magnet. My fingers are somewhat long and slender, but just won't reach into the head very well.

Drove it to the British Car Day, an exhibition of over 1000 cars held in Bronte Creek Provincial Park. This was the thirtieth event, held since 1984 on the third Sunday in September. They had a number of vendors there and I picked up a copy of Mazda MX-5 Miata Find It. Fix It. Trick It. for $14.99. I also got a Great Cars picture book for $1. Lots of interesting cars there. I really like the TVR's that I saw there, except the nicest ones seem to be only available in right-hand drive.

Part of the festivities was a dogfight high above us between a Fokker triplane, a Sopwith Camel and an SE-5. This was provided by the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.

I filled up with premium fuel and found I was getting 25.4 US mpg / 30.48 Imperial mpg / 9.267 litres / 100 km with mainly city driving. Not too shabby, especially with premium fuel at $1.364 / litre.

How do you hold onto the wheel and shift with only one finger! :D

I made one of my sons drive around with me for a few hours to get the passenger side to sag equally with the driver side, as I ended up lop-sided with just me in the car. I suspect had I merely adjusted that side to match without matching the weight load, the first passenger would have caused the springs to drop on that side, requiring an additional adjustment.

I also experienced more than 1/2" of sag overall, and am about 1/4" lower than "I should be", but like the look. No rub so far on my 225/45/15 tires on the pinky width gap.

Replaced the studs/nuts holding the reroute spacer on with socket head cap screws, I couldn't get the one nut tight enough to make me happy due to the machining which restricted access to it. I had put the bottom nuts for the intake manifold on the head so they wouldn't get lost, as I was cleaned it up I noticed one was missing. Looked all over for the damn thing and couldn't find it, right before I came in I moved the head slightly and heard a clink. There it was! Still have no idea where it was hiding.

Cut the plug from the original, and used the black wire for ground, and the blue with red tracer for power with HU on to feed the amplifier built into the S2K unit

And realized how much better it looks, and the antenna amp does not pickup stray electric noise, and improved reception.

I did the same thing to my 2001 LS last fall. I figure I'll probably do the boots @ 30K, along with tranny, 5-speed turret and diff lube changes, and the bushings @ 120K miles.
Any input from other NB owners on this frequency?

I changed the two boots/seals + the plastic cup and renewed the turret oil last year. Probably had never been done before. The car had around 85k on it then. The rubber seals were both shot an fell to bits when i changed them. Shifting felt much better after the job:)

Pulled in to the grocery store and heard a weird noise, a speed based noise out of the drivers rear corner. Nail! Nail, with an audible and tangible leak. Rush home one mile away, before 0 psi.

Oh well, no time like the present to see if the jack works. (new to me, since May, but I DID check and fill the spare!!!! 12 lbs to 60!). Everything is fine, I can nearly lift the driver-rear with the scissor jack by hand, off the loop.

By the time I get the tire off I figure that there might be some local shops still open. Bingo! Throw the dud in to the Accord-amino and get-er-fixed!

Brown dropped a pair of these bad boys off at work for me today. Since the new (to me) 03 SE front end on my car only had one fog light blanking plate I needed to do something. Get another blanking plate, remove the one I have (and find something to do with the holes) or get a pair of new fogs. I chose #3. The fog units look like nice units and the wiring harness (made for a 01+) looks well made and includes a fuse and a relay.

I remember as a kid paying almost as much for a pair of what was really a single filament brake light bulb in a generic, semi reflective enclosure (your choice of round or rectangle) with a crappy clear lens. They didn't come with any wiring harness or a relay so your wiring was always a little suspect. After you got it all installed you didn't get any extra light down the road, but you looked cool(?).

Replaced the "RC Car" antenna with an S2000 one. Got the idea from BlackBandit.

Removed the stock electrical connecter from the S2K unit and installed a ground with quick disconnects

172808

Cut the plug from the original, and used the black wire for ground, and the blue with red tracer for power with HU on to feed the amplifier built into the S2K unit

172809

And realized how much better it looks, and the antenna amp does not pickup stray electric noise, and improved reception.

172810

Total cost: $60.00 (including shipping) for the antenna, $3.00 for connectors from Radio Shack, and 30 minutes to remove the old one and install the S2K unit.

Need To update this. Do Not use the blue with red tracer wire for power to the amp unit on the antenna. It has 12 volts present when the ignition and radio are off. Found this out this morning when there was a dry spot around the base of the antenna in the dew on my car this morning. Use the grey with the black tracer for power when the ignition and radio are on.

Yup, I finally installed my raked shorty antenna Monday evening and checked the 2 wires both with key on/radio off, and key on/radio on. As mentioned, the blue/red wire is hot with radio off. Grey/black wire is only hot when radio is on.

Reception is surprisingly good with this antenna. I have just as good of range with this antenna as with the factory power antenna.

Yeah it was obvious something was wrong. The upshot is, if I decide to put a trunk light in, I now have a 12 volt supply with the ignition off to power it.

Went out with the wife last night, car was idling high so this morning I checked my rerouting of the throttle cable. I moved it to a slightly different position which seemed like it would improve things. Went to start the car before heading to lunch, crank, crank, crank, start and immediately to redline. Shut her down and checked, the throttle cable had jumped off the bellcrank. Took a look after lunch, I didn't get the holding bracket for the throttle cable oriented correctly which is what caused the problem. FYI, that bracket must be parallel to the ground or slightly higher, otherwise because the throttle body is at an angle the cable will not align properly and will come off the bellcrank. This is a bad thing.

When I got that all back together I noticed there wasn't any slack in the cable, causing the throttle to be held open. A couple of washers on the bolt behind the cable bracket to move it closer to the throttle body fixed that. Took a test drive and all those problems are now solved.

I'm getting closer. Installed the new hood hinges tonight and swapped back to the new hood as well. I still have a gap in the front on the drivers side, but it's getting smaller and the side hood gaps are getting more and more alike. I also test fit the new Stratos Blue lip. It fits SO well I'm sure it would stay on without fasteners, but I'll install the fasteners tomorrow when I also wire in and install the new fog lamps. Gotta figure out a way to close that drivers side hood gap though.

BTW, I went with a Stratus Blue lip since the bumper and hood are now that color. Straight on from the front you would almost think it's a Stratus Blue Miata. Until you get to the 3/4 view.

I've always plugged my own tires. I have never had a problem. However, I'd never exceed two per tire.

I too have plugging nail holes in my tires for 20 years without a single problem.

Two good examples:
1. Wife drove over a bunch of nails in the road on her way to work one day. I took a jack, plug kit, and tire pump to her place of employment. Wound up plugging 13-16 holes(I no longer remember the exact number) in her practically new tires. We drove that set of tires more than 35,000 miles after that without a single tire ever losing air.
2. I drove over a bolt in the paddock at the dragstrip and punctured one of the drag radials on my 11.5 second Mustang. I plugged that hole and was doing burnouts and making passes on it 2 hours later. That tire has been more than 80 passes since that day and never an issue with it.
I don't carry a spare tire in any of my 4 cars. I keep a plug kit and pump in the trunk when driving out of town.

As mentioned, plugs are NOT for use in or at the edge of the sidewall of a tire.

To be honest, so do I. While the hood and bumper look good, the new lip looks stunning in the sunlight. Since I'm going to have to get some painting done I briefly thought about painting the entire car Stratos Blue. Then reality caught up with me and I know I will end up painting it Emerald Mica Green again (unless I win the lotto).

Played with hood and bumper gaps again today. I may be at the limit of my abilities with it. While I had the bumper off again I installed the new Spec-D 01+ foglights. I didn't use any of the kits supplied harness except for the actual foglight connectors. Those I just grafted the foglight connectors into my 2000's foglight harness. So now the new fogs work just like the original fogs except they actually work and they throw light down the road.

I didn't permanently install the lower lip yet. I really need to scrub the new bumper clean and then apply alcohol before I do that. Maybe tomorrow. Looks like it's going to be a beautiful night for a drive.

There isnt. How is the back passenger side of the hood? You can lift that to lower the front right side.

Both sides of the hood near the windshield are now even with the fenders since I replaced the hood hinges.

My car was backed into which resulted in not major damage, but enough. This morally challenged person took off without even leaving a sarcastic note on my windshield. So I'm stuck trying to piece this together myself using my own money. I've pulled some of the damage out using chains and come-alongs but it's not perfect, not even close. The new pieces fit better than the old ones, but that's not saying much. I'm pretty sure that this damage is the problem I'm running into. I'll keep trying, and I'll take whatever suggestions I get. Just remember that I don't have a garage, I have limited electricity, not enough for a welder for sure. I'm just not sure there's much more I can do or have the patience for. I may just have whoever I get to do the paint to look at the fitment if I can't get it to sit better.

This is where I started..

As I pulled out I noticed that I didn't get any flash of light from the paint in a neighbors freshly waxed truck when I pressed my brakes. Tried my horn and nothing. You know what that means? Yep, somewhere along the way I popped the 15a STOP fuse under the hood. Luckily I saw it and luckily I always grab handfuls of fuses when I'm at the pick-n-pull. Popped a new one in and all was fine. Still fine after the drive. So no clue what popped it, but I'll be keeping an eye on it.

I have been good at doing oil changes regularly and have used either synthetic or when money got tight, good quality dino. Did the vacuum line reroute to fix the P0402 and lately have been getting P0401 and found the reason for it was the vacuum line I used is too light and is collapsing so needed to change that. Otherwise, it was a routine TB/WP change.

Tough to roll my windows up and down. A while back I used White Lithium Grease which worked well for a couple months. So today I bought some Super Lube Synthetic Grease from Harber Freight. Didn't want to completely take apart my door so I just took the door panels off, cleaned out the tracks the best I could with a long stick with a paper towel wrapped around it. Then applied the grease also with a stick. So far so good, hopefully this last longer then the White Lithium Grease.
